William Shakespeare ( baptized April 26, 1564 – April 23, 1616 )
Was an English poet and playwright, widely regarded as the greatest writer in the English language and the world’s preeminent dramatist. He is often called England’s national poet and the “ Bard of Avon” Shakespeare was born and raised in Stratford-upon-Avon. At the age of 18, he married Anne Hathaway. His plays written in the late 16th and early 17th centuries for a small repertory theatre, are today performed more often and in more countries than those of any playwright.
