The Greek-Roman Architecture Orders
This print was taken from the original Lithograph of year 1590, Roman Architecture text / construction book. The most influential creation of Greek Architecture Orders, Doric, Ionic and Corinthian.Later in Roman Architecture were developed two Orders, Tuscan and Composite were modification of Greek Doric, Ionic and Corinthian Orders, respectively. In general, the proportion of the Roman Order was slenderer than that of the corresponding Greek Order, and there was a tendency toward greater elaboration. Examples of Roman Doric are to be found in the Tabularium ( 78 BC ). Greek Doric Order originated in wood, the Temple of Hera in Olymia Is the oldest Doric Architecture was built just after 600 BC. Ionic Order came from eastern Greece, Corinthian Order designed by Callimachus, a Greek Sculptor of 5 Century BC. Roman Superimposed Order ( Composite Order ) means Doric Order Base, Ionic Order middle and Corinthian top, this Colossal Order was invented by Architects in the Renaissance. Tuscan Order is a very plain design, it is simplified adaptation of Doric Order by Roman.
